Subject: Burnt rear wiper motor?
Content-Type: text/plain; charset=ISO-8859-1

Yesterday we made our annual Christmas tree trek into the woods, and on the way back, I noticed a strong burning smell, just after I saw the rear wiper was stuck in the middle of the glass...

The smell got so bad we had to open the windows (it was pouring rain...) but we were almost home, so I kept going. Today I removed the hatch liner, and confirmed the smell came from the nice toasty looking motor. I won't have time to tackle this before the holidays, so I just unplugged it for now, and have some time to locate a new one. It looks like new ones are $160, vs used on ebay for about $60. Any special advice on replacing these?

Thanks

ps: The van was very grumpy after being driven hard and put away wet (and very muddy) over a month ago... everything seemed stiff - shifter, steering, brakes. Have to remember to at least hose her off before putting away next time - I did this today and got a few pounds of mud off the poor beast...
