I've heard of SVX conversions being given a hard time by refs for not using OEM exhaust components from the donor engine. Some SVX owners had to use a genuine Subaru SVX exhaust system until after the cat(s) which places the exhaust in the middle of the vehicle, then add on pipe to make a U-turn and have the tailpipe exit the rear. (Downstream from the factory cats you can do anything you like) Very kludgy but it will pass. In one case the ref said to the Vanagon owner "so are you going to remove this as soon as you get home?" Just smile and say to the ref "I want to be legal"....then remove it when you get home....
