Belt dressing (not recommended by belt manufacturers) will make the surface sticky and degrade it. Wax will allow it to slip without the awful squeal. Correct tension really ought to give the results you seek. If the belt surface is glazed from slippage or ???, might try a stiff wire brush to remove it but I'd suggest simply replacing it. Yrs, d |
