Thanks Tom. Makes sense. Didn't think of that. FWIW to others, I suspect there's two reasons the tank doesn't line up well. 1. I applied a top coat of bed liner. I brushed it on. Maybe coating too thick making tank slightly "larger" thus a tighter fit. 2. It's a lesser expensive tank purchased from California Imports. Maybe it's just poo poo ca ca. I suspect this is the more likely scenario as I did sand down the top coat to help tank fit better. Thankfully I kept the old tank. I may just toss the new one and reseal etc. Dang. Neil.
