Hey all,


I've just found a small spot of surface rust by the front step on the driver
side. I was going to sand it off and spray it with some zinc chromate for
the time being, just to stop it from spreading, and then worry about the
actual painting later.
The problem is that I think it's too cold to use the primer, and I don't
have a garage to do this in. It's about 30 degrees outside, and the product
calls for 70 for best results.


Is there something else I can do in the meantime to slow down the process
until it gets warmer? I was thinking of putting some sort of oil on it, or
maybe spraying it with spray on wax to keep oxygen from getting to it.


If you have any suggestions, please let me know.
