You can go to your FLAPS and pay more for "belt dressing", but it pretty
much is brake fluid.
One of the properties of brake fluid is that it renews rubber and keeps it
pliable, like those rubber internal brake system parts.
BTW, it also will tend to rejuvenate seals inside slow-shifting
autotrannies, assuming they're not completely dried out. Note that I am NOT
advising that anyone do this, since the dosing is pretty ticklish. It only
takes a very small amount, and if you put in too much, the tranny will no
longer shift at all!

|I already know this trick...Parafin wax works for...hmmm, about one week.
|
|Volks, I'm trying to understand what will get rid of this problem for a
|year. One hand near the belts for the year is probablynot an issue, but 52
|for the year. Try again.
|
|Best yet is the brake fluid.

| There are some things that the blind, inebriated, mentally deficient,
|mentally incompetent or physically disabled should not do. This is one
|of them. However, a competent, reasonable person can do this safely
|enough. Just don't let your neck chains, dreadlocks, or sweater zipper
|get to close. BTW, one should never stand in front of the propeller when
|doing this on an airplane. One could wind up like the lady that backed
|into the small plane propeller. Disaster!!
