Subject:      Routing of rubber fuel line from engine back to fuel pump

I have now replaced both the original hard plastic fuel and the plastic
firewall connector.  I still have to "tie" the fuel line to the body or
other pipes.  Is there a preferred routing for the rubber fuel line?

The original went from the firewall connector up and through a ring at
the top of the right rear wheel well and then down to another ring at
the bottom front of that wheel well before going through a cross member
and then forwards to the pump.

Van is '84 with automatic transmission.
