dear squeaky things i would do .. 1. tighten belt by loosening alt and moving to tighter position (move further from crank pulley) tighten bolts accordingly you may need another person to help you with this

if that does not solve the issue ... your belt may be getting glassy on the pulley side ... so you could do what we used to do on the farm ... pour molasses on the belt (this may have to be done frequently ... so it is best to higher a disposable person who can ride under the engine bay cover to re-apply molasses as you go down the road... this person can also watch for leaking fuel lines and other fire hazards under the cover.... you should let this person out from time to time for obvious reasons

if that does not solve the issue ... replace belt you may need another person to help you with this

i have the same issue and will be trying fix number 1 tomorrow ... i have to do this every so often on my 1984 yours
