If this is just a quicky fix until the good weather and you don't need perfection Peter, I've had good luck taking a rattle can inside where it's at room temp, and meanwhile heating up the rust area with a hair dryer or very carefully with a heat gun (don't scorch the paint) until the metal is warmed up. Shake the can inside where it's warm until it's ready to spray, then take it immediately to the van and do your 2-3 quick light coats. You will be surprised how good it actually works. Just my opinion, but I've been doing it for years. Courtney
