I've found the very best oil for uses where 'sticky' might become an issue later on....Air tool oil. I use it in my .....air tools like nail guns, sanders, etc. I use it on the derailleurs of my bicycles, my guns, etc. anyplace that might have problems with attracted dust or dirt, and yet still needs some lube. I get it by the pint at complete hardware stores...Inexpensive, compared to fancy bike, gun, fishing reel, whatever Oil...A pint costs about the same as 1/2oz of TriFlow. Works better, too.

be aware that there is air TOOL oil and air compressor oil....different stuff. Get the tool stuff, it has a non-sticky additive...They say.
