My current Vanagon is number 10 on the VW bus/Vanagon list, and number 85 (yes, that's 85) of all the vehicles I have owned in my 52 years (this doesn't count motorcycles & boats). I have driven my wife to the edge of insanity, but I always tell her she knew I was a car guy when she married me (I bought a new car between our first and second dates back in '82). When I brought home my '85 Weekender, she asked "why?" I said somebody had to save her. She then asked "why did it have to be you?". She still calls it unkind names, even though since I bought it at the end of June I have re-upholstered the rear fold out bed, replaced the front seat (the shredded corduroy ones), fixed the leaky exhaust, fixed the squealing brakes and got rid of the funky smells. Just the other day she asked "Why can't you own a normal car?". However, she does like the fact that she has plenty of room in the back to play her guitar when we go on trips. But she still hates it..... Jeff

I resemble that remark....

You forgot the project Porsche.
