Steve,

Did you ever swap your 1.9L in your 85 Vanagon for a new motor?

Sometimes the sensor wires get a "nick" in the middle, and cause resistance when corrosion sets in. This can affect the ECU. Likely a bad sensor or wire... I replaced my 1.9L with a 2.1L, and it has been a few years since I've worked on a 1.9L, maybe someone else can pipe in.

I tried to search for this in the archives but I couldn't find anything.  I could swear I saw this topic before.  It sputters and stalls and generally sounds like crap until it warms up.  Then it runs great.  It seems to be flooding.  When it stalls it takes a couple of minutes before it will start again.  Am I right in suspecting the fuel pressure regulator? Thanks again, Steve
