When I put Audi wheels similar to those on my '85, I had to use a 10mm spacer in the front. I also went to the VW dealer near me, and togethr we went thru the parts listings, to find LONG bolts for those fronts. IIRC, they were from the Toureg lists. Correct threads, and seats, too. Good thing the parts guy knew how to search in his system! The bolts were about $4.50 each, over ten years ago. The longer studs for the rear that I finally went with were a larger diameter in the serrations, and required that I ream the holes in the hubs to the correct size for that particular bolt. I do not remember those sizes, but they were readily available in metric drills, and reamers, and were done at homme, in my small drill press. ________________________________ From: J Stewart <fonman4277@COMCAST.NET> To: vanagon@GERRY.VANAGON.COM Sent: Fri, December 24, 2010 12:13:10 PM Subject: Audi Wweels On Vanagon Weekender I scored a set of 5 spoke alloy wheels off a 2001 Audi A6, with nearly new Michelin tires for cheap. Now, the et on these is 45, everything I read on Samba indicated I'd need spacers, anywhere from 8-15 mm. I just test for them on the Vanagon and they fit fine in the rear (longer studs will be required) and the fronts will have to have the centers machined a bit to fit. Rolling the stock wheel/tire next to them shows the height to be the same (these are 16" rims). I'm also trying to determine the weight rating on these rims as well from all the numbers stamped on the back. They say Ronal on them and are made in Germany. Any thoughts? Jeff Jeff Stewart
