Correct or not, I'm taking the liberty of reposting a discussion that is happening
on another VW Van forum to the vanagon and Syncro groups for the purpose
of perhaps developing a larger network for exposing a known van thief,
and "more eyes" and legs on the ground to look for a couple current vans
that were unwittingly entrusted to the subject individual. There have been
several past discussions about Ken here and on The Samba, all detailing
his penchant for ripping off van owners under the guise of taking them
into his business to repair them. Below, find a description of the two vans
currently being looked for. Notice also that there is a third van being looked
for at the bottom of the same email describing the two. He also has a track
record of providing rebuilt vanagon engines that have resulted in unreliable,
untrustworthy work and performance.

A personal perspective of Ken: he is a diagnosable sociopath and so
has no ability to change his behaviors nor engender true, actual
empathy for other people, those that he rips off. So, his behavior
will continue until he is legally confronted and held accountable.
Too often in the past, his victims have been so grateful that they
finally got themselves out of the circumstances Ken put them in,
so they just turned and walked away. My view is that he needs to
be made legally liable and accountable for all of his choices and
behaviors.

I hope your holiday was pleasant..
I'm STILL looking for pics of MY van, but I'll tell you what I know about
both...
1983 Westy diesel 5 speed with gas heater... was originally that
tan/verypale yellow they had in 1983 BUT was repainted or faded to an
off-white... BUT both the rear hatch, and sliding door was replaced with
a snow white colored panel, it that may stand out if it's still
attached.. The fiberglass roof-rack section of the top was also replaced,
with an off colored piece. The front bumper will most likely be off, and
there was minimal rust,but no dents on the van.
The 1990 was orly blue, Auto,PW,cruise, no dents, and had minor seam rust
on driver's side.. and the rear hatch had rust under the window. It had
the alloys... if Ken/Jake didn't take them...and I took the front bumper
off to get it ready for towing...

(PS I know of at least one other man who's looking for a van Ken/Jake
stole... He described it as "peach colored diesel with a sunroof, as I
remember.

This guy is bad juju. My last sighting was just off Highway 224 between
Washington and York at a self-storage lot on the North side of 224. My
friend has a welding shop in the area and I saw Kenny enter driving a
