I installed a later MY WBX transmission and shift linkage. Not sure if
you were referring to the air cooled style pivot above the fuel tank.

linkage): http://tinyurl.com/3775v9y

Looking up front end of pipes, clamps off but still showing roughly
what gap was and roughly where pipes where:

The heater hoses are cable strapped to the pipes until ~ midship where
they go through the middle hole. The shift linkage doesn't rub, but
thanks for the heads up. That much I anticipated. <grin>
As you point out, I now realize that the "kick" in the pipe has
effectively "pushed" the pipe on passenger side too far over above
tank. Good news is that with support clamps removed from the pipes,
the tank so to seat higher up. I assume I can reposition pipes
slightly toward driver side. I loosened and turned the "out" rad hose
at rad a little. The straight rad hose will just stay as is. I don't
forsee any added stress to the rad outlet/inlet pipes.
