Subject: Re: Koni Shock adjustment?

I know you didn't ask for adjustment recomendations but I'll offer my experience anyway.

After a bit of experimentation I found the best adjustment for the new Konis on my '86 Full Westy with F&R Addco sway bars and 215/65r16 Michelin Hydroedge tires (Load Range 98) was at the softest setting. When new, if the shocks are adjusted any tighter, they will "pump down" for an unpleasant ride. At the softest setting the Konis are, in my actual experience, better than heavy duty Bilsteins or KYBs. The Konis are firmer (and adjustable) in the rebound while the jounce is softer (and not adjustable). This gives a near perfect ride that is very smooth but very controlled. The handling can actually be described a "crisp". I think they are near perfect.
