Subject: Captain's Chair vs. Kitchen top cover
Content-Type: text/plain; charset=ISO-8859-1

Hey folks--

When did the configuration on the Westfalia kitchen top cover change to where the front-most corner is tapered or rounded, and why?

My 83.5 full Westy has a fully square corner on the front of the kitchen cover where it sits behind the driver's seat. The front corner/edge is a mirror image of the back corner of the same cover. I see on some Westy's the front of that kitchen cover is rounded off for lack of a better word.

I'm guessing this was to accommodate a slightly thicker back on the velour captain's chairs and allow for more "recline" in the driver's seat. But maybe there's another purpose. (?)

(My bus came with the thinner Westfalia seats with the striped fabric upholestry and the fully square front edge on the kitchen top cover.)

If the later style kitchen cover does allow a little more wiggle room for the driver's seat can I just swap out a later version of the kitchen cover into my 83.5? And is it worth it?

Thanks, Jeff 83.5 Westy LA,CA
