re if you overfill the washer res, that's what happens... it overflows. I haven't seen many of them actually fail or leak . Though washer pump problems are fairly common. Make sure that's not the case...that you are just putting too much in. It's always better to investigate before guessing what the problem might be of course. Lots of people get spare parts that way, intentionally. re ground from alt to battery

don't believe there is one. there's trans grnd strap to body, batter neg terminal to body. left cylinder head to body.

I have numerous good used trans ground straps.
