Subject: Kia beats up Vanagon
Content-Type: text/plain; charset="UTF-8"

I was down in Florida last week, and a guy in a 2008 Kia backed his car into the left corner of the rear bumper on my '84 Vanagon. Kia went away with only a slight scuff on its rear vinyl bumper covering. The bumper on my Vanagon folded up like a straw and didn't stop until it gouged the paint on the body behind the bumper. Along with the bumper, the end cap, and end cap mount are also toast. Offending driver did not have proof of insurance, but that did not seem to bother Volusia County Deputy who investigated the damage and declared the damage to my van to be minor. I also have home in Volusia County, but it is not my primary residence so I was out-of-state with a GA drivers license, GA registration and GA proof of insurance. I have a less damaged bumper and old end cap and mount I can install.
