Hi David:

I like it! Admittedly, the 4" ABS tube looks interesting too, but not so sure I would want the ugly thing hanging off the side of my van. I guess up on the roof rack wouldn't be too bad, and out of the way. I really admire your ingenuity, and love seeing what various members come up with. The installation with my own setup is about 2 hours, and the extra city water port is not needed. I thought it was a nice extra touch though. Since the pump is pressure activated, any time you turn on the tap, the eco-temp fires up and in 5 seconds you have hot water. So far the only problem is wind. The eco-temp tends to blow out. The one major disadvantage I see to solar or heat provided by the vehicle's engine is convenience. I like to take a shower in the morning, and seem to be washing dishes at 8 at night, long after the van has been shut down for the day. The eco-temp is available "on demand" and that's a major plus for me .

Cool setup Troy, I know people are using those Eco-temps, but I have only seen a couple installs. There are a couple neat things you are doing that I hadn't seen before. I think the complexity of those setups will keep most people from trying them.

On mine, everything is near the sliding door side. You hang the showerhead on the open sliding door. The showerhead stores on top of the tank under the seat. On/Off pump switch is right by the door too. If you think it would make a puddle, you can move the van. I recall that being an issue with the last one I made. With everything by the slider, it is more convenient, your clothes and towels are righ there and you can jump in the van and not track dirt anywhere. I also used it for washing dishes.
