There are a surprising number of Vanagons in the Chula Vista boneyards. Mesa Ecology: Four Vanagons. One is a late waterboxer, one early waterboxer, one diesel, and one aircooled. The engine was still in the aircooled this morning. Gone in the others, as are the transmissions. Pick-your-Part: One Waterboxer. May have its engine. Brown's Field: An '83 diesel, engine and transmission gone. It has a badge on the hatch that says "Vanagon L Diesel Turbo" which is interesting. There's also a 914 that still had its engine yesterday at Pick-your- Part. Mark |
