I still say very cool. It got me thinking and I did some googling.

The black Vanagon (Transporter) hearse we're looking at on de Ebay looks like a pretty well thought out conversion. My guess is the coach builder made at least a handful. But I dunno.

Here's a Eurovan I found and an old loaf hearse for those of you who need a ride. Googling "transporter hearse" & "volkswagen hearse" bring up more pics. Not many Vanagons though. Just the silver one on thesamba link below. The first two are the Eurovan and the Loaf.

Then on this samba thread there are a lot of cool pics of VW transporters/vanagons/busses If you scroll way down in this samba thread there is a silver Vanagon hearse that looks particularly elegant compared to the--if you'll pardon the pun-- bare bones black vanagon hearse on de Ebay we've been looking at here.
