no that's not true. they might rust badly and break off when you go to unscrew them .... .........which is from neglect and operating in harsh conditions.. I don't think the word 'sheer' was really meant actually..........not for what that word really means.

they twist off if they break, I'd say that.

but better to deal with your grounds now since with no attention, if corrosion is a factor ..they'll only get worse without attention.

I use 'something' on them ...copper anti-seize on the threads.. perhaps dielectric grease . Most of what I do on vanagons is fix or prevent corrosion ..or a lot of what I do on them is..lots and lots. Tears me up to see corrosion happening on vangons when it's so easy to prevent, or treat.
