Granted this isn't Friday, but this could pass as a interest story for Vanagoneers who travel and use their vans to camp and otherwise recreate. . And - this is a good place to go.

Here's an article and video of guys just outside of Anchorage, Alaska riding the Turnagain Boretide wave up the channel for five miles. I have watched this phenomenon many times, and it's always thrilling.

The upper end of Turnagain Arm is often used for Surf Sailing, but i have never seen anyone ride the Boretide wave itself.

An aside - a friend who is a sculptor was out there once and saw two bull moose fighting in the water from the bore time. He created this piece titled - "Bore Tide" - about 12 inches long, jade base, and cast from enriched Sterling Silver (less copper, more silver)

There might be one or two of these still available if interested. Drop me a note.

Enjoy !!
