RE: Chicken Fried Steak (Or Country Fried Steak) and Minute Steak Another lost art for simple, inexpensive meat dishes in todays restaurants is the Hamburger Steak, especially with onions. That was a family favorite in a little Mom and Pop named "Chuck and Terry's" in my neighborhood when growing up. I can still smell and taste that dinner that was such a treat when the family went out for dinner. And frequently I try to duplicate it in my Westy when camped. But mine never comes out as good as I remember. I keep trying little local restaurants in little towns when I travel. If I ever write my life story it will be titled "In Search of Chuck and Terry's". |
