It will make a difference if the flow rate is different. And here's why. Your fuel injection system uses one oxygen sensor, one throttle position sensor, etc to monitor and make adjustments to the entire engine. Fuel delivery is changed by varying the amount of time each injector is on. Also, until a change is indicated by the computer, each injector is fired for the same amount of time. The system works great as long as everything is in balance. Actually, the system assumes everything is in balance. But install a injector with a 20% greater flow rate and that cylinder will get 20% more fuel than the others! Same goes with a injector with 20% less flow rate - that cylinder will get 20% less fuel than the others! And the computer can't measure & adjust only one injector. It only knows the O2 is off and tries to compensate by changing the on time of all of the injectors at the same time. So, the result is your Vanagon or whatever vehicle it is runs like crap because the engine is in a state that can't be tuned by the computer. The same error occurs with a manifold vacuum leak or a dirty injector. Tom www.towercooler.com
