Whilst it appears to be well worth the asking price based solely on parts, one should be aware that this rig appears to have been imported as a tourist vehicle. Note that it is still wearing what appears to be Belgian license plates. This looks to be a hardtop Syncro converted into a camper and not a Westy. Looks cool but most people who pay serious money for their Syncro camper typically prefer that it wear the Westfalia brand.

BTW, when the seller brought that vehicle into the US, part of the documents US Customs (or whatever they're called these days), is a document which in effect says the vehicle must be re-exported back out of the US by ship or by air or it is subject to seizure and destruction. I'm paraphrasing but that about covers it.

I suppose you could spend some money getting the paperwork sorted out as long as your not taking it straight into California. Jeff Schwaia can tell you more about that.

As for me, I wouldn't mind buying it just for parts if I had $20k sitting in the bank earning less than 1% a year. Good thing I can spare a single dime. This would be one more vehicle I would have to hide from SpicyT.
