Subject: 84' Vanagon starter falling apart
Content-Type: text/plain; charset=ISO-8859-1

Couple of days ago my starter failed turning over freely but not engaging, knocking it made no difference... I found out that it lost the pin or screw that passes as the axis of the lever that actuates the gear lock. I wonder is this supposed to have a bushing or something ow what is the specification of this screw? Have to check weather there is a way to mount the starter so such a pin wouldn't fall out ever? I would like to see an exploded view too, because diassembling there was a plasic piece I dont know where it goes...

Thanks for any useful info!

Tobias
