it is this
we all see what we want to see
i was married for many years to a woman i love
very dearly
she is considerably older than i am
but i never saw that
she was my best

of course she wasnt
perfect
i could see that
easily but
i didnt let on

i fell in love too
and easily forgave her faults
and paid a very fair price
including the faults
and took her home

one of the faults was stuck calipers and
i brought replacements and changed the
worse one out before dark and the snowstorm
caught up
the other got us home and said no more
and so it was a few months before the ice melted

and my ardor had cooled some when i next
looked at my new love and it was
remarkable
how some of the tiny flaws
weren't so
tiny

the seller and i still love her
and shes still his best girl
but shes not mine yet
maybe one day
the four coolant blowouts
in four months might have to do with that
but mostly its because my best girl
is sitting in mike collums dooryard
these four years or so
