The top support really limits you on a Vanagon. No big deal if your under 5' tall...

I had one of the Bend Paks at my shop for 5 years. No problems. I also had an Eagle lift for 4+ years with issue.

Be careful with used above ground lifts. Only buy one if you get to see it in action first. Many of those older units are worn out. The arms sag and get hard to move. If you do go used, make sure the pads and pad extensions are in good shape.

Cheers,

Jeff

I kinda prefer a 2 post lift with top support piece.

Just makes me feel better.

Not sure about clearance for a camper van though. we only put cars on it.

We are fortunate enough to have a 4 post lift also, so any big SUVs or vans go on that.

From my brief research, the Rotary brand is supposed to be pretty good for the money.

I think they are still built in the US.

Things to watch for on quality lifts are rollers instead of rub blocks and chains instead of cables- according to a lift salesman I spoke with.

Having said that, we went with the cheaper rub block/ cable models made by Bend Pak and imported.

We only have about 6 months of use with them and no problems yet.

Time will tell.

I just rented a small shop, in order to feed my addiction. Currently I have four Vanagon projects in progress, so this should help! I'm looking for 'Lift' advice. What is recommended, what to watch out for, features, good brand/bad brand, etc. Thanks, Miguel
