Oh, no question about that. They're supposed to be that way. And I've always thought it was kind of neat that in theory you could start at the top of a mountain and arrive at the bottom with a cold engine.

Ask anyone with a Digitool. Used to be I could tell you the rpm that the injectors would come back on, but no more.* On the 2.1l you have to get above 2500 rpm before anything will happen, and it cuts out when you reach 1500 rpm - so the automatics don't spend nearly as much time with the fuel shut off around town as the manuals.

*Ok, 24.33 says that with throttle closed the 1.9l will shut off the fuel at 1500 rpm and turn it back on again at idle speed. Which of course is why it bucks if the switch doesn't open soon enough.
