Gotcha  covered here.
1.6 or 1.9 ?
and 85 jetta is normally an 1.6 NA or 1.6 TD ..
I have good used cast iron 1.6  pumps, and one 1.9 vacuum pump.

I happen to have one of the early rabbit aluminum diaphragm pumps..
but not what you need.
just confirm 1.6 please..
and I'll give you a quote.  I have maybe 4 or 5 where the vacuum fitting on
the top is not broken.

they break very easily.
