A topic I have experience with (sadly).

I have experience with two different styles, I'm using these Walmart
references because they are convenient, shop around you may find a
better deal somewhere else.

The first one is the 'square' shaped pota-potti and the one I
recommend. It latches well, a good seal between the two halves and
it's simple. This one has a large reservoir for the black water, in
my experience I don't need that big a container. The smaller
reservoir is shorter and will slide under the bed when it's open and
it's easier to carry when you go to empty it.

The second one is the 'oval' shape. I have one now & really don't
like it, the pumping mechanism is not simple, the latch system is not
as secure as the other, the seal between the two seems to leak a
touch and being oval it takes more floor space.

As soon as I find the spare dollars I'm going to buy the square model
& get rid of the oval one. I'm really not happy with the latch system
and it does take up more floor space.
