Subject: Advise on Fixing Rear Washer Plumbing?

Since it's not critical to anything I've been putting off fixing a problem with the plastic line that goes from the rear window washer reservoir/pump to the rear window. That plastic hose, running from the van body to the rear hatch in a bundle at the top right hand corner of the rear hatch, has become brittle and broken right at the top of the hatch. That's where it flexes when the hatch is opened and closed. It's open right there, washer fluid runs all over the place if the washer is turned on. So, any good suggestions for fixing that at that spot? Anyone BTDT and have an elegant solution? It looks like the ideal solution might be to slip a piece of hose over the broken ends of the plastic tubing but there is very little exposed to work with and it apparently had become very brittle. I'm trying to avoid a major project of trying to snake a new piece into place, that's why I'm asking if anyone has come up with some cute solution.
