Hi Volks, Summer of 2007 I ran water injection on my baywindow bus for about two weeks. I got a noticeable improvement on power and fuel economy. This was just after installing a high-compression 1.7L 411 engine in my bus. This engine actually made more HP than the 2L bus motor, and with a free-flowing "harley piped" exhaust on it, it was a blast to drive. BUT. Due to a design deficiency in my implementation, my setup delivered more water to the 3-4 side of the engine than to the 1-2 side. After a 2-hour highway run the 1-2 side spit the rings off the pistons and the experiment was concluded. If I had more time, $$$ and engines to experiment with I am pretty sure I could have resolved the issue and come up with a viable system. But in the actual scheme of things it was simpler to just go buy a watercooled Vanagon. So I did.
