This small insignificant question has been asked a gazillion times here over the many, many years of my reading the Vanagon List. You should all know the problem by now and any quick search of the archives will bring up more info than you could read in a day. This is the number one reason for installing the headlight relay kit that I and many other offer. See my Headlight Relay Upgrade webpage for more detailed information. I guess one thing that I haver not mentioned in the past is that just because you installed the headlight relay kit does not insure your ignition switch or headlight switch will not fail. How long have they been in operation BEFORE you installed the headlight relay Kit ? See the problem ? So...........maybe the headlight relay kits should include a new ignition and headlight switches to get the entire system up to date.
