I drilled out the stuck bleeder, not full width nor depth, then hit it with heat hoping the "shell" of the drilled out bleeder would come away from the caliper body. No dice. So i progressively drilled more and and ran a tap down the hole to clean up threads, but I damaged the conical end of the bleeder hole. So with new bleeder installed it does not seal. What a bummer.
Thanks to all that offered replacement calipers, but it seems that my local wrecker has a few pairs on hand and I need the brakes to be fixed ASAP.
I'll keep the old set and see, sometime, if I can't drill out larger hole and tap for an insert and a different bleeder. alistair |
