My first VW bus was built in '59, my next was '63, then a '71 because I wanted a roll up window to hang my arm out. I picked up a '79 bus while living in Hawaii and replaced that with an '86 bus (for the real heat) just before we moved to Chicago, it was a syncro and that 4wd really helped in the winter. Sometime later (back on the west coast) I couldn't stay away and picked up an '87 bus. My current VW bus was built in '84 & is a Westy, I like it a lot.
