Blackflies. They can be nasty little critters. But not bad enough to not go!

It can be pretty cool in summer. Think 55F and raining. Often. A heat wave in NL is when it goes over 70. Lots and lots of water, it's splendid, but unless you have a drysuit, or at least a wetsuit, don't think too much about swimming in it! I guess the lakes are warmer.

I'm not sure I've ever seen a bad photo of Newfoundland! It's that kind of place...
