Yep, one of my most memorable adventures was going by train and bus to Ohio to pick up my first Vanagon Westy, which I bought on Ebay. As I was leaving with my "new" van, the PO said "Oh, by the way, I rebuilt the (auto) trans myself. Never done anything like that before, it wasn't too hard". All the way home to Virginia I kept expecting the trans to fall out on the highway, luckily it never did .

Now Michael, you should know that it's lots more fun flying to another city and picking up your 'new to you van!' I've done both, in town and outside.....good results, mostly, but going out of town is always the best adventure......and I can't even begin to describe the emotions, wondering what will blow up and when! Pure adventure and not for the meek....but then again, these things were never for the meek. Miguel He who possesses art and science has religion; he who does not possess them, needs religion.
