There was an article in the NYT a week or so ago, in the column called "The Frugal Traveler," about a Laotian segment of the trip. "The Frugal Traveler" author had joined him for several days. I had missed earlier reports, but it seems that the author of the column had joined him on other occasions for similar amounts of time. NYT probably paid expenses for those segments when the columnist participated, though the name of the column does definitely represent how the columnist travels. In fact, I'd say not just frugally, but starkly at times. mcneely ---- Rob <becida@COMCAST.NET> wrote: > This guy is probably back in New York New York by now (There is no > Vanagon mentioned so I've delayed the sending of this until Friday > the 18th) but this is a post by him before he left to drive around > the world.
