One way to find out is to snow bank a 2wd and see if someone can report back? It should not take much to do this. Also the foot print of the tire should make a diference 185 vs 205's. I believe that holds true cross winds, Im sure that also in sand and snow, but do not know which way.

IIRC the 5 ton trucks that I drove from time to time in the ARMY would deflate tires on sand. Those were really fun to drive with a governor at 65mph...
