Zeno gets a timber tech high top installed the weekend after next and I've been slaving away trying to get my van ready for cutting a huge hole in the top. I ran into some trouble when I first started to cut and scribe runners and stringers to fit the van. The DPO must have treated his rust with a shaker can of matching color and this winter hasn't been kind to the metal under. A rust spot had appeared above the left hand A-post. ARGH! Right where the top will sit when it's mounted. Better safe than sorry I've been taking advantage of the good weather we've been blessed with in central WA and repaired the spot, pulling out all the rust and repairing with a very good structural epoxy seal.

But this opened up a can of worms, I went on a crusade against all rust on the van. Stripped and repaired as much of it as I could, then, because funds are limited I went with a 50/50 Krylon special anticipating that given enough time I'd be able to afford to strip and repaint. This afternoon I completed most of the work, now it needs to dry and then I can finish the runners and stringers.
