43. If you sprayed WD-40 on the distributor cap, it would displace the moisture and allow the car to start.

And although WD-40 may do some or all of the things mentioned there are products specific to most of those uses that do it better. And keep in mind that WD stands for "Water Displacement", the function it was originally marketed for. The carrier acts as a mediocre lubricant but it is not a lubricant especially for applications that really need that function. And it will tend to grab and hold dirt worse than many other products. And for our Vanagons and the sliding door (where we ar tempted to use WD-40) there are many better products on the market especially those intended for just that kind of application. Just like the multi tools that kind of sort of do everything but do none well one can of WD-40 is not the cure all for all ills.
