I use WD40 for cleaning grease and oil off of/out of engine related components and for coating surfaces where I don't want rust to form. Also for removing sticker/label residual glue from hard surfaces, etc. I use it with Scotchbrite and or stones to clean up metal engine surfaces.

I agree that there are other products better for vinyl car seats and dash boards, WD40 would seem to leave residual behind that would get on your clothes. I bought something from Autogeek for dashboards that worked really well but I can't remember the name. I've heard Lexol works well on vinyl too.

For a product to loosen stuck/frozen/rusted fasteners, I've found in my years of foraging in Ohio junkyards that PB Blaster is the best stuff for that purpose. I've tried a lot of different things including the SiliKroil and AeroKroil products, and PBB works better than any I've tried so far.

YMMV

Joe

Someone sent this list to me a few days ago, claiming WD-40 as some kind of miracle cleaner/lubricant, and in reading the list, discovered the claim that WD-40 can be used to clean and restore the dash and seats in your car/van. There were many other auto related claims as well. I have included the list here, and was wondering if anyone had any experience with any of these applications of WD-40 to our Vans.
