I restored a pump that was seized by pouring carb cleaner down it and soaking for a few hours. Shook it out, them hooked the battery to it, reversing polarity. Hit the button for just a few seconds. Then reversed the polarity again, repeated. Sprayed cleaner and repeated. I DID NOT allow the pump to run in that condition for any time much at all. Just a hit to loosen things. Afterward. flushed first with more carb cleaner then with some gas. Re-installed. Worked perfect and still does. Made sure there was no debris in front. I like the idea of the small filter in front, even though my '88 GL didn't at the time have one. Only the fat filter.
