I didn't. Worked fine, especially with stiff 2ga wire. It's a bit difficult to find space in the battery box for wire that heavy, but it worked.

I wanted to run new battery cable to alt, but Bently says you |have |to remove the gas tank to do this properly. Is this true? | | |Lastly, I got a new cigarette lighter socket(with green illumination). |Mine |is a little loose. Can this be done without removing the dash? | A little loose is normal, and the design of the outlet sucks. I replaced mine with a dual outlet from West Marine. Big improvement.
