It's generally not considered to practical or wise to drastically change from a car's original color .. you CAN of course .. there will always be interior painted surfaces, engine compartment painted surfaces etc...that won't match if changing the color drastically.

but sure ...is your goal to just pimp it out ? I don't like things that are too flashy myself.. or attention drawing bright colors ....like the attention of cops.

I'd guess first I'd ask .. a standard looking 'sober color ...like stock looking .. or something showoff-ish ?

then i'd go over the basic color choices.. likely not a green, though I had a 'light green mist metallic' 82 Diesel Westy with Subaru Imprezza engine ..and with black trim .. I thought that was one of the nicest to look at vanagons I've ever seen. Still trying to track down what the exact color is ....Iv'e seen in an a Honda Element .. there's a New Beetle shade that's close.. It's like a silvery light green metalic. Darn attractive I though.

then go over the reddish/marron shades.. white, some silver metalic, there's tan/adobe ....I have an 85 Adventurewagon in that shade .. it's 'ok' . I'd never go for dark brown. I don't for really dark colors too much myself. I can imagine some pearl off white color . Personally I don't like them too pimped out ...

if I had it at my fingertips I'd post a pic of that silvery light green metallic one. It was just pleasing to look at, and not too flashy. pmail me for a pic if u want. scott
