If it's running strongly on 3 cylinders, and running right .. one weak or dead one makes a regular sound.. like a four running on 3 cylinders.

if it is clearly one weak or dead cylinder ..that's easy ..to diagnose at least. it has to be compression, ignition, injector/fuel pressure, or intake air leak.

and you find a weak cylinder in 6 seconds shooting the header pipes by each cylinder with an IR Temp Gun. - an indispensable small light toot that it's silly not to have.

more likely ..my guess.. it that it's not running right ...too rich ....just weak on getting enough fuel in ... do the IR Temp gun thing and you may know more quickly.

be real nice in a way if it's one weak cyl...cause that is simple to diagnose compared to 'won't run right' usually. Think about Temp Sensor II .. check everywhere for air leaks, consider fuel delivery and pressure and fuel filter, and fuel pick up from the tank. Consider clogged or restricted cat or muffler. I should right that diagnostic manual by golly.

'It's just a blockage or leakage of fluids or electrons."
