I have some new ones if you find you need one. They are NLA from VW and I have been getting mine from Germany. It is just a black piece of plastic with a brass contact that has a spring that pushes the contact out and against the contacts on the white stationary part (which I also have). Usually you will see wear on it but cleaning them up with some scotchbrite usually fixes the problem unless it is really worn out. They are the two parts of the neutral safety switch and only the automatic Vanagons have them. It also makes the back up lights work.
